What's an HSA, an FSA, and a Letter of Medical Necessity?
Three quick definitions so you know exactly what you're working with at checkout.
HSA & FSA, in plain English
HSA (Health Savings Account) — pre-tax dollars tied to a high-deductible plan. Funds roll over year after year, and they're yours forever.
FSA (Flexible Spending Account) — pre-tax dollars set aside through your employer. Usually "use it or lose it" by year-end (or a short grace period). If yours expires soon, this is the time.
In both cases, every dollar you spend pre-tax is a dollar that wasn't taxed — that's where the ~30–40% savings come from.
Will I qualify? Here's how Flex decides.
-
1
You add Sleepbuds and select Flex at checkout.
-
2
You answer ~5–10 questions about your sleep — snoring, insomnia, sleep disruption, schedule.
-
3
A licensed clinician reviews the intake and determines if Sleepbuds are appropriate for you.
-
4
If approved , you get a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN) and complete checkout with your HSA/FSA card.
-
5
If not , no charge — switch to credit card, or skip the purchase.
Eligibility is plan- and individual-dependent. Documentation may be required. We do not guarantee approval.

“Whether my partner is snoring or I'm traveling, Sleepbuds guarantee I get the quality sleep my body depends on.”

HSA/FSA, answered honestly.
Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) let you set aside pre-tax dollars to pay for qualified health expenses. HSAs are linked to high-deductible health plans, and funds in these accounts roll over year after year. Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) allow you to use pre-tax dollars for eligible health expenses. Unlike HSAs, FSAs are not tied to a specific health plan and often require you to use the funds within the calendar year. FSAs are typically provided by employers.
Ozlo has partnered with Flex so customers can use a Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) to buy eligible Ozlo products with pre-tax dollars. Flex powers the HSA/FSA checkout experience on ozlosleep.com, handling eligibility verification, telehealth consultations where needed, and reimbursement documentation.
At checkout, select Flex | Pay with HSA/FSA. Some products require a Letter of Medical Necessity. Complete a brief chat-based telehealth consultation to confirm eligibility if required. Enter your HSA/FSA card details and complete your purchase. If you don't have your HSA/FSA card available, use a regular credit or debit card. Submit your Letter of Medical Necessity and itemized receipt (provided by Flex) to your HSA/FSA administrator for reimbursement.
HSA and FSA cards are debit cards, and the most common reason for declines is insufficient funds. Reach out to your HSA/FSA administrator to confirm your balance.
If you don't have your HSA or FSA card handy, still select Flex | Pay with HSA/FSA as your payment method. Enter your credit card information and Flex will email you an itemized receipt to submit for reimbursement.
Some products require documentation from a licensed healthcare provider stating that the item is necessary to treat or manage a specific medical condition. If the product requires a Letter of Medical Necessity (LOMN), Flex facilitates a chat-based consultation that generates the Letter in real time.
A licensed clinician will determine your eligibility during a chat-based telehealth consultation. According to IRS guidelines, you must have a medical condition that warrants the product or service you intend to purchase using your HSA/FSA.
Your Letter of Medical Necessity is valid for 12 months from the date of issue. It can be used for any eligible purchases made during this time. Be sure to keep and submit all related receipts when filing with your HSA/FSA administrator.
Look for HSA/FSA messaging on individual product pages. Flex accepts HSA/FSA cards, credit/debit cards, and split payments. Select Flex at checkout to pay for your purchase.
Because HSA/FSA contributions are pre-tax, paying with these funds can save customers up to 30–40% versus paying with post-tax dollars, depending on their individual tax bracket.
