Our dream was to revolutionize sleep for everyone, and make Sleepbuds as future-proof as possible. We took a bold step by using cutting-edge chips in our Sleepbuds—making us one of the first to do so. Being pioneers is exciting, but it isn’t always smooth, and we hit some bumps with Bluetooth reliability.

With this update, we feel like we’ve finally delivered the Bluetooth reliability we, (and you) expected from us and your Sleepbuds.Today, we’re rolling out the quick approximately 15-minute update, to keep your sleep smooth and reliable.

NEW Feature

Ability to replace Sleep Sounds and Alarms with new Sounds and Alarms. 

Improvements

• Optimized Bluetooth connection to increase reliability and quicker reconnection.

Improvements

• IMPORTANT! Factory Reset: Pressing the pin button on the back of the Smart Case will now reset your Sleepbuds to the settings they arrived with from the factory.
• Rebooting Smart Case: If you ever need to reboot your Smart Case, simply close your lid with your Sleepbuds inside and wait 30 seconds.
• Easier Charging: Sleepbuds lights will turn off when removed and turn on when placed back in the Smart Case to signify charging.
• Updated EQ setting for Bluetooth streaming
• Enhanced Bluetooth connection stability.
• Increased speed of firmware update.
• Automatically stops the alarm sound after 15 mins.

Improvements

• Sleepbud lights stay off until they are ready to connect to the Smart Case. Sleepbuds can be removed from the Smart Case as soon as both Sleepbud lights start flashing.
• Smart Case no longer pauses the streaming content when it loses connection with Sleepbuds. This will help to avoid unexpected play/pause behavior.
• Continuous improvement on the connection between the Smart Case and Sleepbuds.

Improvements

Significant battery life increase for Smart Case in all Bluetooth modes

The improved battery monitoring logic uses modular power states for multiple components of the Smart Case, and optimizes battery consumption paths.

Also, the connection management logic has been updated to assist power efficient charging of Sleepbuds.

Increase battery life for Sleepbuds

Sleepbuds are now less dependent on the Smart Case to direct them when to enter low power mode and can now self determine this state change in certain scenarios. This helps to stay disconnected in certain conditions, to save power on the Sleepbuds.

Smart Case and Sleepbuds battery reporting

Battery status reporting across LEDs and apps is now more accurate and consistent.

Smart Case to Sleepbud connection robustness

Case can now wakeup Sleepbuds if needed for connection. Improved handling of corner cases on Sleepbuds ensure they are available to connect with the Case when needed.

Improved Firmware Update experience

Firmware now stays connected and sends progress of each individual component throughout the entire firmware update process.

Bug Fixes

Bluetooth disabled mode will no longer connect over Bluetooth Classic when Sleepbuds are in the Smart Case.

Smart Case Light States

• Fix the faint glow on unused Smart Case LEDs. 
• Fix to remove the Smart Case idle LED pattern. 
• Fix to show Updating LED pattern throughout the Updating process.

Additional Fixes

• Fix to ensure successful change of device name from the mobile app.
• Fix to clear streaming state when needed.
• Fix for issue of playing Sleep Sound after alarm even if it wasn't playing before alarm.
• Corrected updating end of transfer message.
• Fix to the issue where the Smart Case was entering a low power state immediately after the lid was closed.

Hot Fix

Addressed static heard on some Sleep Sounds and streaming content.

Two new Bluetooth Modes that both show significant battery savings

• Power Saving — Allows you to stream as long as you’d like and then switches to Bluetooth Disabled, 10 minutes after you stop streaming.
• Disabled — Only connects BLE for sleepbuds control in app and after 10 minutes, turns off Bluetooth radios.

Other Improvements

• Simplified Sleep Timer experience.
• Sleepbuds LEDs now glow while charging and stay solid when fully charged.

• New BT Modes for radio-free usage - New BT Disabled and Power-Saving Modes bring radio-free usage of the device
• New Sleep Timer usage - The new/revised definition of Sleep Timer simplifies sleep settings for the user
• New LED patterns - New LED patterns include solid glow when battery is charged, fading in-out blinks while charging, among other changes

• Clearer OTA LED pattern - OTA LED pattern starts from the beginning of the OTA process
• Buds save more info to make independent decisions - More info (sleep timer, auto-play delay timer, etc) is saved in buds to allow independent decisions when buds are not connected with the Case
• More reliable Case and buds connection - Improved connection stability and reconnection logic between buds and the Case

Bug Fixes

• Recovery from erroneous battery reporting - Recover from erroneous battery reporting by reconfiguring the fuel gauge
• Stop alarm if buds are placed in the Case before they reconnect - When the alarm goes off, if the buds were disconnected and reconnecting with the Case, docking the buds during reconnection wasn't cancelling the alarm. The fix addresses this corner case
• Other critical bug fixes - As part of continuous improvement, bug fixes and minor improvements are part of this release

Bug Fixes

• Address battery reporting errors. Batteries need to go through a few full charge/discharge cycles for more accurate reporting.
• Sleepbuds will continue to operate even if the case is running out of battery.
• Alarms now stop if Sleepbuds are placed in the case even if they had disconnected from case.

• Repeated play-pause of masking track - Fix for repeated play-pause of masking track when lifting bud(s) from the Case
• Case is connecting with the phone while lid staying closed - Case BT Classic will stay disconnected while lid is closed with buds in the Case
• Case entering pairing mode on boot - Case BT Classic SoC will not be put in pairing incorrectly on every boot/reboot
